Confidence Workshop, Part 1

Girls, Inc, Finding Your Passion

I was a little nervous {okay, a LOT nervous} at this time last week, but by Friday, you couldn’t move the smile from my face.

This is what I had in mind from the beginning…

The little, smiling faces…

The innocent comments…

The sweetest little hugs.

It surprised me that our biggest moments of impact came on the side.

They weren’t the bigger lessons for which we prepped,

And they didn’t happen during structured time together.

"J" Girls, Inc

They happened when it came time to pick a partner…

When we overheard comments one made to another…

When they were washing their hands,

and when they were entering and leaving the classroom.

They happened when we were dancing and when we were eating and when we were breaking into smaller groups.

The greatest opportunities we had to impart a lesson happened during real life moments.

Which means our opportunities to influence girls happen more frequently than we would anticipate.

And it means the opportunity to influence girls happens for you, too, every day.

How will you change the life of a girl?

Yay! It’s awesome that you were tuned in enough to notice those little moments. Sometimes I think the best present we can give to young people is our presence. Total presence. Truly validating.
